Venkaiah Naidu said the Muslim Personal Law Board should not politicize the issue of the uniform civil code. He said, why this issue is being dragged to the Prime Minister. If you would like the political rhetoric then join the party of your choice but don’t politicize this issue.

On the other hand, Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav said, "I will not say much about it but it should not be any controversy. The issue of a uniform civil code should be left to religious leaders. The country must unite all humanity and to the point."
